Community Supported Agriculture
Good for the customer
Our partnerships with our CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) has supplied over 3,000 customers with locally and organically grown fruits and vegetables year-round. From Maryland to Massachusetts, our customers are receiving farm fresh product for their café while sampling the produce on our weekly menus.
“The CSA salad with the apples, fennel, and herbs on the salad bar today is AMAZING!! I enjoyed the roasted brussel sprouts, too.”
Good for the Environment
We have sourced locally since the start of our company for a number of reasons:
- Sourcing locally makes good financial sense
- Sourcing locally reduces our carbon footprint
- Sourcing locally supports the local economy by purchasing from independent small and medium sized businesses
We use the term local as referring to food sourced up to 50 miles away and continue to make every effort to promote a locally grown or manufactured item.
We proudly support and use over 40% of our food and beverage from local vendors.
As part of the Elior North America family of companies, we are committed to being a socially responsible organization. Elior North America has the privilege of serving more than one million meals each day to people across the United States. We take our responsibility seriously to be good corporate citizens and ensure our company positively impacts the people we serve while making a positive difference in our local communities. We are focused on rising global health issues, environmental challenges, decreasing amounts of food waste, and the need for ongoing employee development.
Our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) strategy was created by Elior Group to generate a positive foodprint from farm to fork by working closely with our suppliers, clients, guests and team members. This strategy is called the Elior Group Positive FoodPrint Plan™. It was built to encompass the entire value chain including sustainable ingredient sourcing, healthy food choices for our guests, food waste reduction and identifying opportunities to enable our team members to grow within our organization.
